These swirl tube lampwork glass beads are handmade in Venice. The beads are decorated by “painting” trails and swirls which are created by molten glass from smaller canes. The process in which they are made is the same today as it was hundreds of years ago. They are worked over a flame which is supplied by natural gas to generate the heat required to melt the glass. The design features aventurine or copper paste swirls which gives it a lovely sparkle.
