Janis Rietdyk

FabuGlass, the trading name of Janis Rietdyk, represents my love of the sensuous tactile medium of glass that has inspired my creativity for some 30 years in all forms; leadlight, fused sheet glass, lampwork glass bead making and vitreous enamelling.  

I have had the good fortune to learn from Australian and Internationally renowned goldsmiths and metal fabricators enhancing my ability to expand my repertoire of form and function.  I am enamoured by the geometric style and grace of the Art Deco period, influenced by the ancient Egyptian designs, as well as the exotic and masterful craftsmanship of Ancient Asia & Japan. 

Creative pursuits represent my 'active meditation' that enables tangible expression of beauty and sensitivity that can be appreciated by others through wearable art.
