Faye's fascination with rocks started with a trip to China years ago when she sketched and painted the spectacular limestone karsts along the River Li from Guilin to Yangshou. She then began to explore rocks and geological features as motifs as well as other parts of Central Australian landscape and the basalt magma formations of Tasmania when sailing along its magnificent coastlines.
Faye's current exhibition 'More Rocks and Other Philosophies' continues the series of images using colour and texture to emphasise the intrinsic beauty of geological formations against the absurdity of small boulders holding up massive monoliths often using these images as metaphors of life.
