This handcrafted, bead embroidered collar was inspired by a wedding dress I saw in the window of a bridal shop. The dress was very beautiful, but simple. It needed something extra to give it that once-in-a-lifetime KAPOW of every Bride’s Dream.
The focal cabachons in this piece are a mixture of mother of pearl and one of a kind handcrafted polymer clay. They are flanked by a range of genuine pearls in white, cream and gold. Moonstones, marble, Swarovski crystals and pressed glass Czech beads surround and embellish the focals. The piece is all in a range of white/off white/cream and gold. Handcrafted lampworked glass beads are part of the joining strands, which are all tiny white pearlescent glass beads interspersed with Swarovski crystal butterflies.
The clasp is an egg shaped polymer cab that represents fertility. It is surrounded by semi precious white howlite round beads and attached to a hook clasp. It is an heirloom piece, all hand crafted, each bead individually stitched (or in the case of the central focals, glued) onto backing fabric. The entire piece is then backed with ultrasuede, which is a beautifully soft but resilient man-made fabric that does not fray.
