This hand beaded embroidered collar has a central focal slice of ammonite fossil that is from the Siberian area and is believed to be 80 million years old.
The fossil is surrounded by enamel and acrylic dolls eyes in a range of colours, shapes and sizes. The eyes are surrounded by accent beads in glass, crystal, semi precious gems and pearls.
The clasp at the back contains a slice of petrified kiwi fruit (LOL only joking). It is a semiprecious gem called prehnite. The prehnite is surrounded by Japanese seed beads.
The collar is an heirloom piece, all hand crafted, each bead individually stitched (or in the case of the eyes, glued) onto backing fabric. The entire piece is then backed with ultrasuede, which is a beautifully soft but resilient man-made fabric that does not fray. The clasp, chain and rings are all copper.
