China Academy of Art is a very important institution of fine arts in China and has nurtured the education of numerous well-known artists since it was established ninety-four years ago. The Australian Alumni Association is made up of graduates of the China Academy of Art who now reside in Australia.
The Australian Chinese Culture and Arts Research Institute was established at Western Sydney University by a group of Chinese artists well known in China and in Australia.
Breathing Colours Gallery was based in Balmain for many years and now represents Australian artists online and via pop-up exhibitions.
The exhibition features works created by artists in the Chinese tradition and displays not only the artists’ authoritative command of Chinese art traditions, but also their skill in integrating elements of Western art to achieve a new and exciting visual impact.
These works are complimented by a group of Australian artists whose aesthetic fits well with the Chinese traditions.
